Hey everyone!

When making a guide, it is important that they manage to do what they aim to meet: be helpful to pack members and act as a referral for when members may have questions.

However, I have noticed that sometimes users may create guides that either simply quote other topics (deeming it a duplicate) or it lacks information. Here are a couple of points as to what you can do when making a guide to make it as useful as possible (you should also as yourself if your guide meets any of these attributes):

  • Screenshots can be included within guides in order to help users find whatever is being explained in your guide (e.g. log in button to the chatbox).
  • It is fine to quote reliable sources (e.g. administrators) in order to improve the accurracy of your guide, however it is also good to attempt to explain attributes in your guide in your own words, or branch off from quotes you use to explain further aspects.
  • Using a step-by-step procedure within your guide can be useful when helping users solve a problem that they are struggling with (e.g. basic steps on how to set up your own avatar)
  • Your guide should be organised so that it is not difficult for users to understand or read.
  • Ask yourself if the purpose of your guide is reflected in it's content.
  • Ensure that the guide you want to create has either not already been created or is similar to another topic. If you have posted a guide which is deemed as a duplicate, it will be removed.
